All of what you say sounds wonderful. The truth of the matter is that most people used the credit cards over the holiday season and will continue to use them. Plus the ones who do transfer their balances to lower interest rate cards will use the card they just transferred the balance from and now have twice the amount of debt. Also, with the promotional interest rates on most cards, it is only for 6 months to a year and when the promotion is up they charge a rediculous interest rate. Most people do not read the fine print of the contract. Another way the creditors get you on a balance transfer is with a balance transfer fee. It is usually a percentage of the balance you are transfering. If you have bad credit you should look to see why. Are you late on your bills? Are your accounts with collections? If you are answering yes and need help do some research and look for programs to help you out of debt. There are many programs out there for the consumer to help them become debt free. With a little bit of research you can find a program that fits your needs. There is debt settlement and debt meltdown and many others. All it takes is realizing you need help and wanting to take the step to a debt free life.

well written article. I have almost the same issues but I was prepared and planned my holiday shopping with less debt. I saved some cash but used my credit cards for reward points. When the bill arrived, I have enough cash to pay for it.

Please do check my unbiased reviews of business credit card including small business credit cards. Thank you.
