Do you have bad credit? Are you in need of credit repair?  Did you know that you can do much to improve your personal credit without enrolling in a paid credit repair program? Yes, many steps to repair bad credit can be done on your own and if you act now, you should be able to see a significant improvement within the next six months.  Take a look at the following tips:

1. Obtain the most recent copy of your credit report.  Order a copy of your report from the three major credit bureaus.  This way, you can be sure that your file does not contain errors or misinformation which could be causing more damage to your personal rating.

2. Send a letter to the bureau. If you find errors or inaccuracies in your credit report, you should immediately send a letter to the bureau that issued your report. Upon receiving your letter, the bureau will conduct an investigation on the matter and if your dispute has been found valid, the errors in your report will be corrected.  You will also receive an updated copy of your credit report for free.  Taking this important step can instantly raise your credit score by a few significant points.

3. Consider the available credit options for repairing bad credit. There are tools that are especially designed for repairing bad credit.  One example is the secured credit card.  Also referred to as a bad credit credit card, approval for a secured card is not based on credit history but on the applicant’s capability to submit the required deposit. The deposit will be used as security for the debts.  By acquiring a secured card, you can prove that you are capable of managing credit through timely submission of your payments.

4. Do not submit multiple credit applications. If you would like to apply for a bad credit loan, do not try your luck by submitting multiple applications to different lending companies at once. Doing so will only cause damage to your credit score as each credit inquiry made by a prospective lender in response to your application can cause your score to drop.  If your application gets rejected, your credit score will drop even more.

Do extensive research and comparison before making a choice. Then you can submit your application to your chosen lending company and wait for a response.
