improving my credit score

I have been through a divorce which has left my credit score low. I have a good job and only have one monthly payment (vehicle) and a credit card with a small balance. I have sold what proeprty that I owned in February. Some of the payments were late before I got rid of it. I recently was turned down for a $3000.00 loan from a credit company that I have dealt with for years. How long will it take for my credit score to improve? Please help.

How long would take for your credit score to improve depends on how late you were. Did you miss a payment then make the next payment? Or did you missed 2 or 3 payments in a row? Right now you need to keep making timely payments and not look for credit for the next few months to a year before attempting to get a loan. But if you really need a loan now you will need a co-signer.
