The Business Cash Rebate Credit Card, issued by American
Express, is designed for those with good or excellent
credit who plan to take advantage of the cash back
reward program.
The card has a reasonably low interest rate for
those who qualify, providing a low cost option for
paying business expenses over time. The card offers
a 0% introductory rate for purchases for the first
six months. There is also an introductory rate of
7.99% offered for balances transferred during the
first six months of membership, which applies for
the life of the loan.
Through the rebate program, cardholders earn a
cash reward that varies according to the amount
spent per year. General purchases earn up to a 2.5%
rebate, and "Open Savings" purchases earn
up to a 5% rebate. However, once the annual spending
exceeds $15,000, the rebate for additional general
purchases is 1%, and the rebate for additional "Open
Savings" purchases is 2%. "Open Savings"
purchases are those made at participating merchants.
As an added bonus, cardholders will earn an extra
5% cash rebate until January 31, 2006, with a limit
of $150 in cash rebates that can be earned before
that deadline.
Aside from the cash rebates, this card provides
common benefits and services commonly found with
American Express® credit cards, such as the
buyer's assurance plan, purchase protection plan,
and travel accident insurance. Cardholders also
receive special discounts at participating merchants
and retailers.
Therefore, those who qualify for the lowest rate
offered and plan to take advantage of the cash back
reward program for "Open Savings" purchases
(to earn the highest rebate) may find the Business
Cash Rebate Credit Card to be a suitable option.
